Comparison methodology

What we compare

Only attributes a manufacturer publishes: material and construction, board width, thickness and lengths, profile, colours, warranty terms, and (where stated) maximum joist centres.

Ordering

Lists are sorted A to Z by brand by default. You can also sort by width, warranty length or price per m². Products with unknown values go last instead of being counted as zero. Commission never affects which products are listed or in what order.

Prices

• Shown only with a source URL, date and tax status.
• Converted to per linear metre and per m² of deck (board width + 5 mm gap) so different units compare fairly.
• Marked stale after 90 days.
• Board-only prices exclude frame, fixings, delivery and labour.

Like with like

Decking boards (the surface) are compared with boards; frames (the structure) with frames. Pedestals are compared with pedestals.

What we do not do

We do not publish star ratings, “best overall” scores without stated criteria, claims of expert testing, or review markup for reviews we have not done.
